Introduction

The P5 Series 2 is the flagship stereo preamplifier from Michi, marrying reference-level analogue performance with a powerful digital section and vinyl-ready phono stage. From its dual-mono architecture and precision volume control to its high-resolution DAC and Bluetooth streaming, the P5 S2 anchors any high-end system with clarity, authority, and musical finesse.

Design

Built around a heavy, low-resonance aluminum chassis, the P5 S2 isolates its analogue, digital, and power-amp circuits on separate toroidal transformers to eliminate crosstalk and noise. Its front panel features a high-contrast display and a smooth, stepped-attenuator volume knob. Rear-panel XLR and RCA connectors are gold-plated for maximum conductivity and long-term reliability.

Application

As a central hub, the P5 S2 accepts up to three balanced XLR and three unbalanced RCA line inputs, two digital S/PDIF inputs, USB-PC streaming, aptX HD Bluetooth, and a front-panel moving-magnet/moving-coil phono stage. It feeds any power amplifier or active speaker via fixed or variable XLR outputs, and even drives headphones from its discrete high-current headphone amplifier.
